My husband recently surprised me with a mid-arm quilter as a gift. Since it was so completely unexpected, I don't have many quilt tops ready to quilt on it. Therefore, I am giving away the quilting for two quilts.
These are the designs that I have practiced and feel confident in doing, although I would be happy to consider other easy designs.
I have done a quilt with squares and rectangles and am working on one with the basic stipple and palm trees.
There's some fine print though.
1) I'm still a beginner. If this is a quilt top that you really love or you want intricate work done, you may not want to enter.
2) The maximum size that I'm willing to do is a queen size.
3) I'm only giving away my time to do the quilting...if you win you can either send me batting and thread also or you can pay me via paypal to use the batting and thread that I have at cost.
4) I am not going to ship outside North America (unless you are willing to pay for return postage).
5) I will guarantee that the quilted quilt will be in the mail by Dec 10. If you need it earlier, I will do my best to accommodate you.
6) Did you notice that I'm still a beginner?
There are two ways to enter:
1) Tell me which design(s) you would like on your quilt top and what size it is
2) Be or become a follower (and leave an additional comment)
The winners will be chosen Sept 3rd.
ok first one that means I'm unlikely to win which is good - I just wanted to let you know that you did get a lot better on your quilting - looks perfect to me. I like the squares and rectangles most.
ReplyDeleteAnd now can you please kick me out of the drawing, even though I can think of 2 quilts I would be glad to send you - I'm on the other side of the big pond and no chance I can spend that much on shipping.
I love stars. I have the perfect top to be quilted. It is block swap quilt that I haven't gotten around to quilt. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love the seaweed! I have a large throw that needs a-quilting.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fabulous husband.
ReplyDeleteSquares and rectangles and the meandering loops are cool (the first 2 listed are not in picture by the way you only have 6 of 8 shown).
ReplyDeleteI have to say I am jealous. Gratz on the mid-arm.
I am also a follower
ReplyDeleteI have a queen-sized flimsy that is just waiting to be quilted with meandering loops! I think your quilting looks great. It's much better than I can do on my DSM.
ReplyDeleteI just became a follower so can I get a second chance to have
ReplyDeletemy queen-sized top quilted with meandering loops? Thanks!
I have my grey/pink ribbon wall hanging/lap quilt (34 x 38). I just finished the backing this month. I'm thinking the meandering loops or the basic stipple. Unfortunately, I made the backing to be folded over as the binding, (that is what my quilter does). If you can't do that, I'd understand. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway! I'd love your meandering stars on my queen-size quilt top. I finished it about 3 years ago and just couldn't decide how I wanted it quilted - maybe it was waiting for your meandering stars .
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. I definitely need to follow so I have 2 chances to win your great prize. I also look forward to reading about your experiences in long-arm quilting.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's an incredible giveaway! I have a lap-sized quilt I'm making from blocks I've received from NuBees and am really having trouble figuring out how to quilt it. :) I love ALL the patterns you show here, but I think the meandering loop would work best. Or the squares and rectangles. I narrowed it down to two, that's good, right??
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am a follower! :D Thanks again for an incredible giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple throw size quilts I'd happily let you quilt in whatever design you want. But I have to say I really like the back and forth.
ReplyDeleteOooo.. I have a twin sized that I'd love to have the rectangles and squares on!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteI like the meandring stars. I have a queen size and lap size. Thanks for chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the meandering stars! So cute! I'm working on a baby size and a throw quilt right now. Thanks! (And your machine looks lovely!)
ReplyDeleteSUCH a generous prize!! Thank you , thank you!! :-) If I won, I have a quilt top-- probably about twin size-- that I would love to have quilted. It is made from blocks that I received in a Birthday Block swap-- Lover's Knot pattern done in purples, lavenders and greens. I like Meander quilting-- although, if I won, I would let you choose what you think would look best. :-) By the way, what a sweet hubby you have!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the square and rectangles it looks amazing. I have a large quilt that it would be perfect for not sure of size between a full and queen I'd. Say thank for the chance.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a generous giveaway! I would love to have you "practice" on a double quilt I made with batik jelly rolls. The stars pattern would be perfect! Thanks for the chance to win. Good luck to you with the long arm.
ReplyDeleteWonderful husband can he call mine! I love the squares, meandering, stars and zigzaggy things. Your work is very nicely done for a beginner!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous husband you've got! I have a lap-sized quilt (maybe twin sized at best?) that would look fantastic with your palm tree quilting. It's got a very light and summery feel to it and I think that quilting would echo that! Thank you for the chance to win such a generous prize!! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't have a quilt put together for you to quilt YET, but you bet your Aunt Betty, if I won, I would be putting one together right quick to get one quilted. I don't know how to FMQ.. I only hand quilt, and I'm not so keen on doing that. I'd love to have someone else do my quilting for me. I'd love it if I even had me a little time to get that top in to get it quilted (wink wink). Pick me, Pick ME!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a lucky duck! My husband doesn't understand the concept of surprise unless it is followed by a catastrophes. I have several quilt tops that could use your beginner's touch. The one in particular that I am thinking of is a full size top that would benefit from the design of your choice. You are so generous. Thank you!
DeleteI found you through the blog hop. I'm a new follower and looking forward to your great posts!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follwer.
ReplyDeleteI love the squiggle squares.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway!!! You may be a beginner but your quilt ing looks wonderful to me. I love the basic stipple. The quilt I have is about 60" x 75". I hope this isn't too big. Thanks so much for the chance!
ReplyDeleteAs another quilting engineer, the organization of the "back and forth" pattern speaks to me.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt that just needs that pattern is a striped modern quilt that is slightly larger than lap size - I refer to it as a "sofa sized quilt" - perfect cover for a nap1
Wow Great giveaway! I have twin size turning twenty top that needs quilted. I think the meandering loops would be so cute on it. Thanks for the chance
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower!
ReplyDeleteMy throw sized quilt would look good in squares and rectangles.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower, but if you pull my name, just pick another as I am a longarm quilter! I just would like to follow your wonderful journey in quilting!! What a lovely hubby!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a batik twin size that would look fabulous with either meandering or palm trees. You may be a beginner but you do great work. What a generous giveaway, thank you
ReplyDeleteOh I would love you to quilt my wall hanging! I love the meandering loops! Thank you for the fantastic giveaway. Such a wonderful hubby, he deserves a hug!
ReplyDeleteOh I kind of have a crush on the palm trees. :) Congratulations on such a great gift. Your hubby sounds like a keeper. ;) Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI am your latest follower. :) Nice to *meet* you.
ReplyDeleteIf I won I would send you my yet to be completed double bed sized quilt for my daughter's big girl bed. It is the spin cycle by cluck cluck sew and I am not sure how I would want it quilted yet. I am partial to quilting with curved lines so maybe some meadering?
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! Thanks so much for such a great giveaway. If I won I'd send you a few charity quilts that I'm working on.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful surprise gift from your husband! I would be happy to let you quilt one of the many quilt tops I created over the summer.
ReplyDeleteI know very little about quilting patterns or designs available, I would let you choose a pattern you wanted practice on...most of my quilt tops are either for double or queen sized beds.

I have a grace frame but would love to have you quilt one for me. I have a lap size one that I need quilted. Just stippling or whatever you think would look good. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI have a twin sized quilt that I'd love quited in any design you deemed best. Thanks for the wonderful prize! My fingers are crossed! As a hand quilter, it takes me forever to finish quilting a quilt, so I have many more tops than I have completed quilts.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the palm trees, the geometric and the stipple! I've got so many tops that need quilting that it would be hard to decide but, not to worry, I have plenty to choose from in a variety of sizes! What a fun surprise from your husband, he sounds like a keeper!
ReplyDeleteWow what a generous giveaway! I have a couple of lap sizes that I haven't been able to do anything with thanks to being on bed rest for pregnancy. I love the geometric stipple and the back and forth. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide between the palm trees and the back and forth - both are fantastic...and what a WONDERUL giveaway gift!!!
ReplyDeleteI've followed you via Blogger :D
ReplyDeleteI love the second an d the third. I think your quilting is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower and I look forward to watching you rock those quilts!
ReplyDeleteWhat a tremendous giveaway...Could choose on several tops that need quilting.. Guess design would depend on final selection. Just hope I have to make a decision!!!

ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! Thanks for the chance! I love the basic stipple. Have a Nice Day! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the squares and rectangles! I have a twin sized quilt top, with batting, but would pay you for thread, or find out what kind to buy and ship to you :D
ReplyDeleteAm a new follower
ReplyDeleteThis is such a generous offer. I have a 36" or 42" squarish wall hanging that I would love to have quilted. I love your squares and rectangles but I'm open to whatever thrills you. Thanks for participating in the blog hop.
ReplyDeletehi! I haven't finished my current top but the stars are cool!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely giveaway. Basic meandering would be my choice, perhaps with a larger pattern.
ReplyDeletemeandering loops on a queen size would be my choice.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower
ReplyDeleteHello from fellower Michiganer!!! I'm Follower #70. Good Luck with you mid-arm.... what a wonderful gift from your hubby.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Tricia
I would love to have practice on my quilts. ;) One is for my 10 yr. son and is a cowboy theme that would be just great with your meandering stars pattern that might be a double at best and I have I have a Turning Twenty +4 that a long twin and that one could be that is a canidate for anyone of your meanderings.
ReplyDeleteIt's Nice "meet" a fellower Michiganer. Thank you for such a most generous give-away.
Sincerely,
Tricia
I love the stars and have a quilt that is somewhere between double and queen size that I would gladly let you practice on. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great husband you have! And what an awesome prize! I would pick the basic stipple if I won. As far as the size of the quilt, I don't know for sure because I don't have it finished, lol. I'd imagine about a lap or twin size.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower too! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a hubby! Mine just groans when I mention another quilting frame. I finally explained what I mean when I say long arm but I really doubt he'd even begin to dare to surprise me like that. I have a bunch of quilt tops that just need to be quilted and I'm not getting them done very quickly. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI follow, I don't know what pattern I'd like and most of my quilt tops are twin size.
ReplyDeleteI really, really like when a quilt it stipple quilted :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm a new follower and can I just say your hubby is as awesome as mine is. Thank you for the generous giveaway. :)

Wow. What an awesome husband you have. Lucky woman. Your quilting examples are great. I really love the look of the back and forth, but really like both the squares and rectangles ad your meandering stars. You've done amazing on the stars. I can't even draw a star that looks as nice as yours you've done with your machine. lol
ReplyDeleteI haven't got a quilt right this second that needs to be done, but am working on the quilt along with Quilting Gallery and the last block was just posted so maybe I'll have one soon enough. But, I really need to get some baby quilts done and quilted so my question would be if chosen, does the winner have a certain date they must get the quilts to you for the quilting? If it's something you want to do right away then, as much as I'd love to win this, I am asking now to please pick a new winner if my name is drawn. Thank you for a wonderful giveaway. This is an awesome prize.
Good luck with the new toy you have. Very lucky you are. New toys are always fun.
i love the squares and rectangles- i have a double size quilt that needs to be done, it is the sparkle punch quilt from elizabeth hartman. i am a beginner too, no worries! i think they look very lovely.
ReplyDeleteis that a VOYAGER?? and stretch frame??
ReplyDeleteI have a V17 as well, though we picked the summit frame which is awesome too.... have fun quilting, looks like you already get inspired by leah day 365 filler designs, I know she's inspired my quilting..... I don't want to be in the drawing, just want to say congrats on the new setup!!
I really love the Palm Trees and Back and Forth stitches. What a great gift. Way to go Hubby!
ReplyDeleteI like the back and forth best...looks like a basket weave. I don't have a quilt ready, but if I win, I will put together some swap blocks I won or something..it would be smaller than a queen. You do very nice work for a beginner.
ReplyDeleteI would take a chance on you! I've never had a quilt machine quilted before.... I like meandering stars and meandering loops. Thanks for offering your skills in this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm a beginner too. What a nice gift!!! Wish I had one. I quilt all mine on my home machine. If I won, I would give the prize to my Aunt who taught me to piece. She does not quilt hers. She sends them out, so it would be a nice gift for her. She usually makes throw size quilts and she is not picky about how they are quilted.
ReplyDeleteI am following you now :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful husband! I think you have done a wonderful job with all your samples. I love the stars or the squares. I have a lap sized quilt I am working on.
ReplyDeleteStars!
ReplyDeleteNew follower, and I like basic meandering. Am not sure yet which quilt top I'd like to get done, but it would come with backing and batting included. You are very generous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Some day I hope to have 1 of my own. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh wow this would be so awesome to win you have no idea. I started my first quilt ten years ago and am just this weekend pulling it out and finishing the backing. If I win I would have you do meandering star quilting as the front is an alternating star pattern. Of course this quilt was totally imperfect as my first and I'm just thrilled to almost be finished with it. The quilt is a generous lap size. Thanks for the chance!!
ReplyDeleteThis would be great to win! I have several quilts to choose from all lap quilt size app 65x65. debbie73521@yahoo.com
